Best quality loft insulation
You want loft insulation that will protect your home and save you money in the long-term. To achieve this you need three things:
- The right insulation material for your property
- An expert installation
- To maintain your home once the insulation is installed.
As with our cavity wall insulation, we only install loft insulation materials that we know to be thermally efficient and therefore cost effective. The best quality, modern insulation will last for over 40 years with no loss of efficiency and no need for any maintenance. Therefore it should pay for itself many times over.
We’d be happy to inspect your loft insulation and advise you on the best solution for your home.
Keep your home warm and enjoy use of your loft
Along with installing loft insulation we can also:
- Install loft ladders or stairs
- Enlarge or replace loft hatches
- Raise your joists
- Build loft platforms
- Install lights
- Insulate your pipes and water tank
The importance of ventilation
It may seem wrong to talk about insulation and ventilation at the same time. However, adequate ventilation in your loft is essential to prevent condensation. If condensation does develop and cannot escape, in the long-term you could have more serious problems with damp.
To prevent this we can install soffit or roof vents in your loft if there is no other suitable ventilation.
Remember: as well as keeping your home warm in winter, loft insulation will also help keep it cool in summer.
Why it’s worth topping up or replacing your existing loft insulation. If it’s an old installation the material:
May be less thermally efficient than the materials available today. Replacing it with a modern material will make your home warmer and save you money on your heating bills.
May only be 100mm thick. The current recommended minimum thickness for maximum efficiency is between 270mm and 300mm, depending on the material used.
May have been damaged over time, for example by water, birds or animals entering the loft space. This will prevent the insulation trapping the warm air it needs to have an insulating effect and in the case of water could be damaging your home.
