Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable safety specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
Responsibilities
- To consistently achieve Evolve HES competencies in relation to the role to meet and exceed all KPIs.
- Liaise with all departments and their workplans to provide pre-start, WIP and programme closure support and that all materials, processes and practices are deemed safe.
- Provide training to and ensure all operatives have the correct qualifications working with Operations Managers and Contracts Managers to ensure that training records are updated and maintained and that there is a planned and focused tool box talk directive within the business.
- Ensure that contract managers and operations managers ensure that all subcontractors work to our health & safety standards.
- To work across all of our estate and fleet to make sure that they are being maintained safely and that corrective actions are taking place.
- To create a management dashboard to ensure that we have challenging SMART objectives and that these are being improved upon year on year.
- To ensure that our ISO45001 and all SSIP accreditations are maintained year on year
- Report to the Senior Leadership Team on performance and identify areas for improvement and provide costed implementations plans where necessary.
- Ensure that all staff become H&S conscious and appreciate the positive impact of reporting concerns and providing feedback.
- Work with all facility support contractors, fire safety, heating and electrical, hygiene, mechanical, vehicles etc. to ensure there is a managed programme of maintenance and upkeep.

- Able to plan and organise, develop and create contingency plans to ensure short and long term results are delivered efficiently and effectively
- Able to effectively and efficiently analyse and evaluate complex information with the ability to identify anomalies and the relevant issues

- Able to make timely decisions which are sound and well though through without being delayed by the desire to take in to account every possible eventuality
- Motivated to learn and continually develop expertise
- Able to demonstrate commitment and drive at the same time as flexibility
- Ability to make decisions and make sound judgments
- Ensure transparent communications and regular updates are provided to the Directors
Experience:
- Business/Industry knowledge and experience
- Experience in a project management/operational role.
- Experience in roles that require high levels of organisational skills and relationship building
- Excellent communication skills (including presentation skills).
