Great British Insulation Scheme
Free cavity wall or loft insulation
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is designed to help millions of UK homeowners and tenants lower their energy bills by having cavity wall insulation or loft insulation installed for FREE.
The government has set aside £1 billion for the GBIS scheme with an aim for 300,000 households to be helped with FREE loft or cavity wall insulation.
Qualification
General qualification for GBIS is straightforward: you must simply live in a property that is in Council Tax Band A, B, C or D (in England) or A, B, C, D or E (in Wales) AND that property must have an EPC rating of D, E, F or G. There is no requirement for you to earn above or below a certain amount to qualify. The GBIS scheme is simply about making as many homes as possible more energy efficiency and reducing heat loss from uninsulated, leaky homes.

There is also a second way to qualify called the low-income group for people in receipt of qualifying benefits.

As part of the Great British Insulation Scheme, millions of households are entitled to FREE cavity wall insulation to make their home warmer and reduce energy bills.
Up to £300 per year can be saved on your energy bill, based on a semi-detached, gas-heated home – it could be more depending on size and heating type.

FREE Loft Insulation
Free loft insulation
As part of the Great British Insulation Scheme, millions of households are entitled to FREE loft insulation to make their home warmer and reduce energy bills.
It’s possible to save around £285 per year on your energy bill (gas-heated, semi-detached home), rising to £475 per year if you’re in a bigger, detached home.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO4)
Whole house upgrades for low-income and vulnerable households
There are many home upgrades available for FREE under the ECO4 scheme, which is backed by the UK government and funded by the UK’s biggest energy companies. The scheme is open to people living in fuel poverty, those on low incomes and those who most need help to improve their living conditions and reduce energy bills.
Available upgrades include: cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, external wall insulation, party wall insulation, flat roof insulation, internal wall insulation, boiler replacements, storage heaters, first-time heating systems, smart controls, air source heat pumps and solar PV systems.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
£7,500 towards an air source heat pump
As a MCS accredited installer (Microgeneration Certification Service), we’re able to offer £7,500 off the cost of an air source heat pump when it’s replacing an existing gas, oil or electric boiler, thanks to the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). BUS is designed to encourage uptake of air source heat pumps in the UK, an energy-efficient method of heating UK homes.
